Septic System

Our villa and all homes on Cayman Brac use septic systems to handle waste. The following tips will help the septic system to function well.
 
Do’s

• Flush only biodegradable waste, including toilet paper.
• Deposit food waste into garbage and use drain screens to catch food waste when washing dishes by hand.
• Conserve water by taking shorter showers and running the dishwasher with full loads where possible to avoid excess water entering septic system.

 
Don’ts

• Don’t flush any foreign objects down the toilet including cigarette butts, paper towels, women’s sanitary products, disposable diapers, medications, anything non-biodegradable or made from plastic or latex.
• Don’t pour cooking oil, grease, or chemical drain cleaners into the drain.
